Description
Summary:This study aims to provide quality improvement proposals at the shoe clearance station in the PT TD Automotive Compressor Indonesia (PT TACI) assembling section. This quality improvement proposal is carried out by reducing the product defects of the sub assy cylinder for the IMV compressor type. To make these improvements, quality improvement efforts are used using the Six Sigma methodology. The six sigma methodology is carried out with the DMAIC cycle approach which is define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. At the stage of defining the object determined by the author is the shoe clearance station with a sub assy cylinder product with IMV compressor type. This stage also determines the factors causing defects with the Delphi method. Critical factors are then determined by the critical factor. At the measure stage, the defect rate is 11.5% and the sigma level is 1,916. During the analyze phase, the root cause analysis is carried out, and the root problems (a) collision and friction occur between the gauge and the piston during the measurement process and (b) the piston allows it to return to its position before positioning. In the improve phase, the proposed improvements that are (a) make changes to the measuring dial and (b) make changes to the measuring jig. To ensure the implementation of the solution is carried out in accordance with the expected implementation of the implementation timeline at the control stage.
