Description
Summary:Indonesia is a country that has a large ocean region, it has the potential to develop ocean energy as a renewable energy to solve national energy crisis. With its abundance of potential energy that can come from currents, tides, waves and thermal, ocean energy can help to create positive impacts and to fulfill Indonesia’s energy need in the future. By maximizing the potential of wave energy that Indonesia have, a structure is needed to be able to convert wave energy into electrical energy. This final project will be a design of a wave energy converter in which the power that the converter can produce on a certain location in a year will be its focus. To determine the dimension of the structure and the stability of the structure, an analytical calculation is needed. The calculation of the rotational response of the structure will be calculated using a modelling in a software. The power that is produced by the structure can be calculated by multiplying the power of the structure for every wave profile with the amount of incident for every wave profile. The result of this final project is the dimension of the wave energy converter structure, dynamic response of the structure in which it is a rotational response structure and the power produced by the structure in a year.
