Mathematical Modelling of Peanut’s (Arachis hypogaea) Gajah variety Water Consumption using Rice Husk Charcoal and Wood Chips as Growing Media in Drip Irrigation System as a Precision Farming Preliminary Design.

Water is the most vital resource that is used in the process of agriculture. Up to 70% of fresh water consumption is allocated for various processes in agriculture. Conventional type of agriculture farmers usually do not water their crops precisely. Most of the time, conventional agriculture system...

Up to 70% of fresh water consumption is allocated for various processes in agriculture. Conventional type of agriculture farmers usually do not water their crops precisely. Most of the time, conventional agriculture system gave too much water for their crops. Thus raising water consumption significantly. Drip Irrigation system could be the solution to raise the effectiveness of water consumption. With the system, watering process and distribution could be monitored. Peanut, as a food commodity has a high value in nutrition. Especially in protein and fat. Peanut also has become a part of Indonesian people’s daily snack. Objectives of the research are to determine the mathematical modelling of peanut’s water consumption, highest biomass, and highest chlorophyll from rice husk charcoal and wood chip growing media with 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% water holding capacity. Mathematical modelling from rice husk charcoal and wood chips are y = 1.4067ln(x) + 95.1 and y = -3E-08x6 + 2E-06x5 + 0.0002x4 - 0.0229x3 + 0.8005x2 - 7.4964x + 15.55. Highest value of chlorophyll a and b is observed on rice husk charcoal media with 25% of water holding capacity, with the value of 6.31 mg/l dan 3.8 mg/l. text
