Description
Summary:One of the primary needs in human life is clothing and clothes. Clothes is closely related to term textile. In order to fulfill those human needs, requires a material called textile. Textile or fabric is a flexible weaving material that consist of natural structure or artificial structure called yarn. Fabric scraps is leftovers from clothing sewing process. These fabric scraps are mostly synthetics, so pile of fabric scraps often burned or thrown into the final place of disposal. Fabric scraps made from synthetics potentially to be processed further using surface textile techniques that uses heat. If the fabric scraps processed using heat, tend to have appealing textures. This technique is a technique that used by Kim Thittichai in her book titled Hot Textile (2007). Textile processing by utilizing the heat can give textures to the fabrics. Heat can be transferred using heat conductor media such as heat gun, hair dryer, iron, or using process that involves heat like boiling. Fashion products that uses fabric scraps material and processed using the surface textile technique with heat hopefully can be an alternative method of processing fabric scraps which are more explorative.
