INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/43300 Masigit Kareumbi Game Park (TBMK) conservation area is licensed to increase its biodiversity through animal introduction programs. One of those animal species considered feasible to be introduced is the Javan green peafowl (Pavo muticus muticus Linnaeus, 1766). The javan green peafowl introduction plans requires supporting data from Baluran National Park (TNB) as a referenced habitat of green peafowls in the island of Java. This research aims to determine the environmental physical variables that influence the Javan green peafowl’s habitat compability in TNB and map the potential habitat locations in TBMK. Each variable is classified into a number of classes; the most preffered class having a score of 4 and the least preffered class having a score of 1. Next, weighting is conducted based on the significance of the specified variable towards the requirements of the specified habitat through Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Mapping is done through scoring method and weighting by spatial analysis tools provided by ArcGIS 10 software on the study area in TBMK that measures at 1.097,14 hectares. The results in TNB show that the Javan green peafowl’s habitat compability is influenced by a number of variables which are slope, distance from roads, distance from water sources, and land cover. The weight acquired from PCA is 1,722 for slope and road distance variable, and 1,070 for land cover and river distance variable. The resulting map is categorized into three habitat preference classes which are less preffered, preffered and very preffered. In TBMK, it is shown that 10,03% of the study area (110,12 ha) is categorized as less preffered, 59,36% (651,32 ha) is preffered, and 29,99% of the area is very preffered (329,11 ha). The high percentage number of both preffered and very preffered habitat, being 89,35% (980,43 ha) in the TBMK study area shows that physically, this area could potentially support the Javan green peafowl introduction plan. text
