Summary: | Development of pro-environmental behaviors through environmental education is an urgency that must be managed today, as the conditions of environmental quality continue to decline. As an educational facility, schools can accomodate environmental education effectively. Indonesia has developed environmental education through the Adiwiyata school program. Awards and coaching are given to schools that implement environmentally friendly values. This study aims to explore the contexts that play a role in the development of environmental education at Adiwiyata school, and then explain the causal relationship between Adiwiyata school environment and the establishment of pro-environmental value and behavior. This research was done through two stages. The first stage was an explorative qualitative research, while the second stage was an explanatory quantitative research. The results of this study will reveal the extent to which the Adiwiyata school environment role as 3D-Textbook in developing environmental education. In addition, the influence of Adiwiyata school environment in shaping the students' pro-environmental value and behavior will also be discussed. In the next implementation, the results of this research can contribute as an input to the development of sustainable school architecture in accordance with the Indonesian context. |
