Description
Summary:Aluminium is a metal that is very commonly used in human life. This metals was chosen because it has properties that are lightweight, corrosion resistant, good toughness and have good working temperature resistance. However, on the other hand, aluminium also has weakness, which is a low strength and low hardness value when compared to other metals. Because of that, aluminium needs to be combined with other materials so that can increase the strenght and hardness value of the aluminium. One way to integrate this aluminium is to make composites known as metal matrix composite (MMC). In this research, aluminium metal will be combined with nano alumina (Al2O3) powder 10 nm, so that it will form the metal matrix composite of aluminium 1100 - Nano alumina (Al2O3) powder. In making this aluminium 1100 - Nano alumina composite, the distribution of alumina powder in the aluminium matrix needs to be considered because it will affect the mechanical properties of the composite, especially its strength and hardness value. Therefore, making this composite is done by several methods including screen printing, spray, and spray ultrasonic fogger accumulated roll bonding. From the experiments conducted, it was found that the most optimum method was obtained to produce good mechanical properties in making this composite was the ultrasonic fogger accumulated roll bonding spray with addition 5 w/0 alumina.
