The increasing use of steam-electric power plants in Indonesia poses a hazard to its workers, one of which is heat. Excessive heat exposed to workers will cause heat stress. Therefore a cross-sectional epidemiological study was conducted to determine the risk in the heat-exposed and control groups. The parameters used in this study are the Wet Globe Bulb Temperature Index (WBGT) and Discomfort Index (DI) as well as the measurement of changes in the respondent's physiological responses during work as indicated by the systolic and diastolic pressure values, heart rate, ear temperature and oral temperature. The Pearson correlation test states that age and weight factors correlate significantly with changes in systolic and diastolic pressure; and ISBB and DI values significantly influence changes in oral temperature and ear temperature. The results of the risk analysis by calculating the Hazard Quotient value for the group exposed to heat showed a value of more than 1 (HQ> 1). Therefore the heat exposure in the workplace has the hazard of potentially causing heat stress to workers
