Currently PT Chitose International Tbk. operates in two main plants in Cimahi City, West Java. The problem itself is caused by there is a lot of waste which occurs in the production process and imbalance workloads among workstations. These impede company productivity. Therefore, this study aims to design a proposed improvement on the Yamato folding chair production trajectory to increase the productivity of PT. Chitose International Tbk. The arrangement of proposal is done by eliminating the waste, followed by balancing the trajectory using the largest candidate rule method, region approach method, and ranked positional method. The best suggestion is obtained based on the performance criteria, in this case ranked positional method. Next step, an adjustment is made to be implemented in the field. In order to meet the company's takt time, additional adjustments are being impelemented in the model. The proposed improvement has succeeded in reducing idle time from 454 seconds to 56 seconds and reduce idle time balance from 57% to 14%. In addition, the overall production efficiency increased from 43% to 86% and there was a decrease in the smoothness index from 153 to 19. text |
