Summary: | This research is motivated by a remarkable increase in the use of shipping goods over the last few years, from the movement of domestic to global shipments. The problem discussed in this study is the problem of capacitated multiple allocation median p-hub location problem (C-MA-M-p-HLP). Therefore the selection of hub facilities is an important part that must be considered to produced optimal operational costs by PT. POS Indonesia.
Mathematical models built to explore hub and spoke networks by considering not only the opening hub facilities cost, but also considering the intermodal connectivity cost for land and air, as well as the capacity of the hub are important considerations to minimize total operational costs while still providing rapid delivery services. To solve problems in large data sets, heuristic algorithms are developed with clustering approaches to generate feasible solutions.
Based on the results of experiments with 10 hypothetical data sets show that on average the quality of algorithmic solutions performance achieve 91.64% of the quality of analytical method solutions with the computational time used is only 0.01% of the total average time to obtain the optimum global solution. |
