Description
Summary:This thesis report describes a static-aeroelastic approach for more accurately predicting the flight loading on IFX fighter aircraft structures with underwing store configurations. When this agile aircraft maneuvers, the underwing stores will cause structural deflections that changes airload distribution. A full-scale structural finite element model coupled with Doublet-Lattice Method based arodynamic panel are used to simulate the form of changes in the aerodynamic load or lift distribution on the aircraft due to structural flexibility. This report also discusses these changes effect to the structural integrity of the airframe, sensitivity of underwing stores modeling, and aerodynamic stability derivatives.
