Those who benefit through air transportation gather around the airport, making airport the center of an area with high economic activity called airport city. Further development caused various other clusters to gather along the airport's connectivity path, creating an aerotropolis. To create a successful aerotropolis, the influencing factors need to be identified. In this study, a method was developed to examine aerotropolis’ success potency based on the conditions of all its success factors. This research was conducted using the Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method adopted to make decisions from diverse and conflicting criteria. In the first stage, the weighting of each factor’s importance is done. After that, each studied aerotropolis is compared based on each factor to find the success potential. From the study, we found 6 general criteria, from the most to the least important, consisting of Accessibility, Airport Operation, Aerotropolis Area, Government Support, Area’s Economic Condition, and Sustainable Development. The weight of each factor and the aerotropolis’ success potential is obtained through the MCDM method. Comparisons between each criteria’s values were made to identify aerotropolis ranks. In addition, analysis and input are presented for the development of Kertajati and Kualanamu aerotropolis based on their comparison with other aerotropolis. text |
