During an earthquake, humans in high-rise buildings are prohibited from trying to leave the building. Because of the high likelihood of falling and being hit by dangerous objects or building debris. However, the behavior of human inhabitants of buildings during an earthquake tends to try to get out of the building as soon as possible. The purpose of this study is to develop innovative design opportunities for personal protective products (PPE) to protect humans from the danger of rubble in high-rise buildings due to earthquakes when walking towards the safest lane, which is an emergency ladder. The method used is a literature review, observation, interview, sketch, study of aspects of design and study models. The development of the Shell Protector design aims to protect the human head and spine from the dangers of debris impact due to earthquakes when the evacuation process to the emergency ladder. text |
