SELECTION OF LOCATION AND PLANNING OF PASSENGER PORT LAYOUT IN LEROKIS, UHAK, MALUKU SOUTHWEST

The port has a very important role in the distribution of the Indonesian economy. But the fact is that even distribution of the economy has not yet been realized. The lack of equitable development in eastern Indonesia is the impact of the lack of sea transportation facilities and infrastructure, particularly ports. For the Maluku region, especially the southwestern part, it is planned that Lerokis port will function as a mainstay of the border in supporting regional economic growth and defense and security, as well as opening up the isolation of the surrounding area. In this case the area around the port planning location is North Wetar District. In this final project, the location of several alternatives is chosen to become the Lerokis port construction site. The arrangement of alternative locations is based on the availability of vacant land as a place for the port to be built. The selection of new port locations can be seen from several parameters, such as shipping facilities and passenger safety based on the physical environment, land availability, and accessibility. In addition, modeling of waves using SMS 8.1 software is also carried out to determine the wave conditions in each alternative location. The results of this Final Project include the location chosen as the location of the Lerokis Port development plan and its port facility requirements. Then a new Lerokis Port layout design and its facilities are made from the chosen location.
