SUPPRESSION OF SECONDARY ARC MODEL WITH NEUTRAL REACTOR FOR SINGLE POLE RECLOSE PURPOSE

The most common fault in the transmission line is transient fault (70% -90% of the total fault). Most of the disturbances are temporary 1 phase ground disturbances, so SPAR (single pole auto recloser) is used to maintain system stability and continuity. SPAR can fail to work because of the appearance of the secondary arc. To reduce secondary arc currents and accelerate arc extinguish time for transposition lines, a Neutral Reactor can be used. From the experimental results, neutral reactor with rated power between 0.2 MVar - 30 MVar can be selected to meet the Java Bali dead time specifications. The selected neutral reactor does not cause resonance. text
