Summary:This book will explain the design of energy sensing and charging control subsystem in inCharge, an electric car battery charging station in office's parking area. InCharge is suggested due to charging station being a needed infrastructure in the realization of using electric vehicle or hybrid. In a charging station, information to be displayed to the user is needed, one of which is the amount of energy given by the charging station. Furthermore, a method to automatically control the start and end of charging based on the state is also needed. Energy counting is done by using voltage and current transformer as voltage and current sensor at the output of charging station. Meanwhile, charging control is done by using relay component as an electric switch controlled by logical value by control unit. From the testing, the energy calculation can be done according to the specification and the charging control can be done automatically as stated in IEC61851-1 standard.
