Summary:About 70% of the world's rattan stock comes from Indonesia, but there are internal problems in Indonesia related to rattan material. The related problems including short supply of rattan stocks in Cirebon, and many have questioned about the regeneration and continuity of rattan handicraft traditions and culture. The study process of the design starts from observing the community, both directly affected from a scale Cirebon city to nation in order to find the best solution. Of all roots of problems existed, the lack of public education on rattan are the main cause of the problems. Therefore, one of the solutions to solve the problems is to increase public education on rattan, encouraging the planning of Rattan Design Center in Cirebon.
