Summary: | Indonesia is an archipelago that has so many arts, one of them is dance. Kecak
dance is one of Indonesia's traditional dance originating from Bali. Kecak dance
has very unique characteristics and different from other Balinese dances. The song
or sound that accompanies the performance comes from the voice and shouting
"cak cak ke cak" from each dancer. The traditional ornament is one of Indonesia's
treasure. Traditional ornaments often found on Indonesian textile such as batik,
songket, tenun, ikat. However, teenagers in 2019 are very rarely wearing clothing
printed with traditional ornament, they only wear it on certain events even though
they are interested in the clothing. Many of teens wear everyday outfits based on
trends. From the collected information, only 2 designers used natural dyes on the
fabric they used to make the clothes they designed. So, this research produced
textiles with painted ornament using natural dyes inspired by kecak dance, which
refers to traditional ornament based on the svarga theme in the singularity trend
that suits the tastes of teenagers. The methods used in this research are explorative
method conducted qualitatively and quantitative. |
