This undergraduate assignment will discuss in more detail on one of its components, namely the sensor casing with the aim of getting a low manufacturing price and for easy and convenient use for athletes and coaches especially in Indonesia. The sensor casing design was chosen based on the Pugh concept selection method from several alternative designs. After that, prototypes are made using the machining process. This timing gate consists of seven sensors which have a volume of 108 cm 3 with a weight of 19,5 kg. The design refinement for mass production is carried out with the Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) analysis method. This method consists of Design for Assembly (DFA) which has a higher DFA index value than the previous design and Design for Manufacture (DFM) which produces the lowest production costs for mass production of sensor casing. The final design of the timing gate sensor casing is the design with the highest DFA index (13,8%) and is made using injection molding which is 82% cheaper than the machining process to meet the needs of the sports agencies which number 113.526 casing sensor products. text |
