Summary: | In most recent studies, there is no manual/ guidelines to define public transportation passenger trip production and trip attraction. Even though passenger trip production and trip attraction needed in planning a new public transportation network as a preliminary data to plan operational policies or to design the size of public transportation shelter’s waiting room which is convenient for passengers. For all this time, passenger trip production and attraction obtained through long and time-wasting field survey. So, this study intended to model public transportation passenger trip generation by using secondary data which easier to obtain, which is land use around the relevant shelter. Trip generation to be reviewed are passenger trip generation at peak hours (AM and PM). Land uses will be grouped into 11 type among others lodging business land, office space, grocery store, public services, residential complex, shopping center, recreational and sport facilites, apartment, educational facilites, open field, and small shops. When we already got the area from each type of land uses, public transportation trip generation can be easily obtained from the model that we built. Public transportation passenger trip generation model built using two methods, multilinear regression and trip generation rate. After choosing the right model, almost all of the trip represented by model that built using trip generation rate method. This is because of model from trip generation rates methods represent that every land use contributing to passenger trip generation rate, the difference is only the size of the trip which is born from the intensity of the land uses |
