IDENTIFICATION OF HYDROTHERMAL ALTERATION MINERALS USING HYPERSPECTRAL SATELLITE DATA: A CASE STUDY OF WAYANG WINDU GEOTHERMAL FIELD, PANGALENGAN WEST JAVA

The need of high accuracy method to map the surface alteration zones can be done based on mineral reflectance. The Hyperion image, having 242 bands with a spatial resolution of 30 meters, can measure the characteristics of a particular material spectral across the electromagnetic spectrum. The st...

The Hyperion image, having 242 bands with a spatial resolution of 30 meters, can measure the characteristics of a particular material spectral across the electromagnetic spectrum. The study aims to identify the spread of alteration minerals using hyperspectral data validated with field survey data, and to map the alteration zones based on alteration mineral assemblages in Wayang Windu geothermal field. Hyperion satellite imagery data were obtained from https://earthexplorer. usgs.gov. The processed satellite imagery is validated by analyzing 45 field data samples with Spectral spectral spectroscopy and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Mapping minerals using remote sensing data with two methods are Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM), Linear Spectral Unmixing (LSU), SAM and LSU run the concept of spectroscopy of which two endmember results will be compared to XRD. The study result shows the presence of minerals from the alunite group, kaolinite group, quartz, zeolite and chlorite group. The terminology of alteration based on its mineral assemblages are propylitic and advanced argillic, with the dominance of propylitic alteration in the less vegetation or open area. text
