Description
Summary:In 2018 the use of renewable energy fuels (EBT) only reaches 12% of the total national electricity capacity. In the same year, PLN's RUPTL at the end of 2025, Indonesia had to use 23% EBT of national electricity capacity. EBT that has promising potential is wind energy. The wind turbine is a tool for extracting electricity from the wind while the most important component is the blade. Common blade material are glass fibers which cannot be biodegradable, harmful to health, and cannot manufacture in Indonesia. For this we need material that can overcome this. A good blade should be as light as possible with the highest rigidity possible. Therefore, mechanical material properties point of vie, important mechanical properties on the blade are density, strength, and specific stiffness. One of the natural fibers that compete with mechanical properties of glass fiber is ramie fiber, whereas ramie fiber specific stiffness are near specifi stiffness of glass fiber. One of the method increase the higher and more homogeneous volume fraction in ramie fiber, a preimpregrated composite. In this research, a blade of ramie/epoxy fiber will be made, then a performance testing is carried out so that the performance can be done under the blade of glass fiber / epoxy.
