Description
Summary:Research area is located in Bandung city and Bandung district at coordinate of 107°35’0’’ E, -6°54’30’’ S to 107°50’0’’ E, -7°4’0’’ S. This research aims to determine soil engineering properties, mineralogy, organic content of soil in research area; to determine the parameters of consolidation; and to analyze land subsidence in research area. Tests of soil engineering properties were carried out to determine the specific gravity, moisture content, grain size analysis, and Atterberg limits. Tests of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) were carried out to determine the mineralogy of soil in research area. Tests of Loss on Ignition (LOI) were carried out to determine organic content of soil in research area. Land subsidence potentials were analyzed using one dimensional consolidation method. Based on soil engineering properties test result, soil in research area belongs to MH-OH group with activity level ranged from low to high. Soil density in research area is ranged between 2.53 – 2.87 g/cm3, while the moisture content is ranged between 62.72–190.17%. Based on X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) test, the soil in research area consists of montmorillonite, halloysite, kaolinite, illite, vermiculite, sepiolite, dickite, nacrite, chlorite, albite, orthoclast, and quartz with the dominance of halloysite. Based on Loss on Ignition (LOI) test result shows medium organic content to high organic contents. Based on one dimensional consolidation test, the parameters of consolidation are: ???????? ranged between 0.7-1.3; ???????? ranged between 0.02-0.1; ???????? ranged between 0.02-0.03; ????????? ranged between 0.01-0.02; and ???????? ranged between 2.3-4.4 m/year. Based on analysis of land subsidence in research area, the maximum settlement is 1.43 m within 13.5 year at DH 4 2016. The settlement in other research points are ranged between 0.05-1.48 m.
