| Summary: | Research is important in the life development. Through research, new knowledge will be found that will be petrified in the discovery of innovations that are useful for human life. Nowadays, new technologies that are the result of developing innovations, and new innovations are emerging very rapidly from time to time. The innovations are very helpful for solving problems more easily. Therefore, the implementation of research is needed. But unfortunately, research conducted is still very low in Indonesia. Compared to countries in ASEAN, Indonesia is in the fourth position in term of number of publications. Cicendo Eye Hospital as one of the health and education institutions also conducts research. This is stated in its vision and mission. However, research activities is not conducted optimally because the results of the study have not been able to produce innovations that are useful in the healthcare treatment. Therefore, Cicendo Eye Hospital tries to develop its capabilities by planning the construction of a research centre. Through the development of this research centre, it is expected that new innovations will be found and useful in handling eyecare treatment in Indonesia. This research centre is an appropriate diversification strategy so that research can be carried out continuously and also it can be a way to assist in realizing the vision and mission of the Cicendo Eye Hospital itself.
This thesis was compiled to analyse the diversification strategy proposed of the research centre where the analysis carried out divided into internal and external analysis. Internal analysis includes, analysis of internal resources, supply chain analysis, RWW analysis and risk matrix analysis, where the results of this analysis are strengths and weaknesses of the company (S and W). As for external analysis, using PEST analysis, PORTER analysis, competitor analysis and consumer analysis, where the results obtained are opportunities and threats for the company (O and T). The combination of those analysis above results SWOT points, and they were used to fill the TOWS matrix to obtain strategy recommendations to be proposed to the Cicendo Eye Hospital.
Through the recommendations of the strategy will be specified into a plan of activities to be carried out by the Cicendo Eye Hospital. And the plan of this activities will be equipped with a specific schedule as a reference in its implementation.
