Description
Summary:Chronic kidney disease is a process of damage to the kidneys within 3 months characterized by a decrease in glomerular filtration rate. Indonesia itself became one of the country with a high rate of chronic kidney disease. Based on the results of the Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) 2018, the prevalence of chronic kidney disease based on a doctor's diagnosis in Indonesia is 0.38%. Hypertension is a cause and complication of chronic kidney disease. The target of hypertension treatment in hemodialysis patients with comorbid diabetes or without diabetes is to lower blood pressure in order to reduce the morbidity and mortality caused by kidney disease and cardiovascular disease. This aims of this study to assess the effectiveness of hypertension therapy, and identify several factors that can influence the effectiveness of hypertension therapy including medication adherence, physical activity, and smoking habits in hemodialysis patients in RSUD Cibabat. This study uses a cross-sectional design, with descriptive and quantitative analysis. Data was collected retrospectively from medical records, and concurrently through direct interviews with patients and pill count. The research subjects were 67 patients who met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi Square / Fisher Exact, Mann Whitney test and risk analysis with an odds ratio. The results showed no influence between smoking habits to effectiveness of therapy (p = 1.000 OR = 0.78). The results showed The results showed there were 79.10% patients with hypertensive therapy not effective. There is a correlation between the results of compliance measurements using the MMAS-8 method, and the pill count method (p = 0,000). There are influence between the medication adherence measurement results based on the MMAS-8 method (p = 0.001 OR = 16.96), the adherence measurement results based on the pill count method (p = 0.001 OR = 18.32), and physical activity (p = 0.001 OR = 5.54) on the effectiveness of hypertension therapy in hemodialysis patients at RSUD Cibabat. Factors that influence the effectiveness of hypertension therapy are adherence and physical activity.
