Summary: | One of the main activities carried out by educational institutions is the management of academic data by using academic information systems as a tool. ITB as one of the higher education institutions in Indonesia uses a website-based academic information system called SIX. Preliminary research shows some problems related to the use of SIX delivered by users of student groups and system managers (ITB Directorate of Education). This research aims to increase the usability value of academic information systems - SIX ITB.
The method used in usability evaluation is the performance measurement method and the questionnaire method. Performance measurement method was used to measure the level of success of the task, the level of error, and the time to complete the task. The performance measurement method was tested on 30 respondents of ITB Industrial Engineering students. The questionnaire used was the SUMI (Software Usability Measurement Inventory) questionnaire. The questionnaire was used to measure the value of general user satisfaction with the use of SIX. The questionnaire method was tested on 130 respondents of ITB Industrial Engineering students.
The results showed that SIX had a good usability value. Eventhough SIX had been categorized as good, there were still mistakes made by test respondents. Therefore, the improvement design is still done to make the system better. As for improvements made in this research are design improvements to some menus on the system, improvements to navigation in the system and a list of system development suggestions. |
