This study aims to develop and evaluate sesame oil cream formulas. In the development of cream formula, Tween 80 and Span 80 were used as surfactant, cethyl alkohol and cetosteayl alcohol were used as viscosity enhancer, propylene glycol was used as penetration enhancer, methyl parabens and propyl parabens were used as preservatives, pewangi lavender, and destilled water. The evaluation of the preparation is carried out on it’s physical stability, the antioxidant activity of sesame oil and sesame oil cream, emulsion type, pH, acute dermal and eye irritation test, and anti-wrinkle activity test in woman subjeks with videodermatoscope. Stable preparation were obtained from formulas consisting of sesame oil 30%, Tween 80 7,01%, Span 80 2,99%, cetyl alkohol 2%, cetostearil alkohol 8%, propylene glycol 10%, methyl parabens 0,01%, propyl parabens 0,02%, lavender pewangi 4%, and destilled water add to 100%. Sesame oil cream has a white-cream appearance and distinctive odor; globule size of 6,37 ± 0,41 µm; pH of 6.2 - 6.38; and viscosity of 321000 - 332000 cPs. Type of the emulsion is oil in water. Antioxidant test using DPPH method yielded IC50 of sesame oil was 21,532 ± 0,049 µg/mL and IC50 of cream preparations was 29,867± 0,280 µg/mL. Statiscal analysis using paired t-test for stability at room temperature, accelerated, and freeze-thaw stability showed that there were no significant different in physical stability of cream product (p ?0,05) for 4 week of storage. The result of eye and dermal acute irritation test showed that the formula was not irritate. Statistical analysis by using paired t-test on the anti-wrinkle activity showed a significant difference (p ?0,05) of the wrinkles before and after applying of the test cream of sesame oil at the six of subjects for 4 weeks. text
