FINE ART NEO DECOLLAGE AS WAY OF SUFISM (A Spirituality Approach of Art through Islamic Mysticism to Understand the Nature of Self)

A long reflection on how to "understand myself" has led the writer to decide to embrace the Qudusiyah to build inner sensitivity, discover and understand the true self based. On the other hand, art activity has become a part of the writer life. At the time of being part of the life of the writer, each other becomes more reinforcing. The theoretical foundation in this dissertation, the concept of 'knowing oneself' is not only explained through the knowledge of the results of the embracing and thinking of the Sufis, but also traced through human views of Western philosophy including: Hegel, Descartes, Husserl, Heidegger and Derrida . So that the knowledge of God is not born of God's own thought (firman) but from the ratio of humans. The neo decollage was chosen as an art method not only for technical matters, but also because of the unique patterns unique to neo decollage, which are seen as having the opportunity to be developed further. The pattern is to take off something that has been pasted; reduce what has been added. These keywords are important matters that have very deep meaning for the search for the essence of ihsan (the essence of self). Here, excavation and tracing of the nature of Ihsan as the main objective of the path of fighting and art get its meeting point. Because Islamic mysticism (Sufism) itself has 'the same characteristics' with neo decollage. To get complete knowledge, it is necessary to study existentialist philosophy. Based on these three sources of knowledge, each discipline has different methods and final results. Neo decollage has a concrete form of art. Thus, neo decollage works are actually other articulation of art in the form of signs, symbols, or metaphors in the search for ihsan essence. If in philosophy known as existentialist philosophy, neo dekolase is similar to the way of philosophizing which formulates the case of human existence, but there are intentions. Because it has a theoretical foundation from Islamic mysticism and Western existentialist philosophy, neo decollage becomes a sufistic nuanced art with the context of true self-search, as well as being a spiritual or artistic art that has a value of independence. Neo-decollage takes reference from one of the teachings of Islam, but neo-decollage is not religious art, like the art of Islamic calligraphy. In practice, the neo-decolation procession has religious nuances. This can be seen from the final model shown, namely the artistic and aesthetic results originating from Sufism (art which shows a correspondence between artists and God). In other words, art has a function as a medium or a path that opens the "door of communication" with the Creator. To express ideas so that they manifest into works of art, the right medium is needed. One medium for building art is material. Visual and material elements need methods / techniques to be artistic. The word decollage, as a word taken from art, has shown a way of art, so that the material decollage approach as a form of art becomes specific and specific. The meaning of decollage gives rise to a diverse approach. Because the main meaning is revoking (to cut up), whatever the material will be treated the same, that is to be removed. Although there are many ways to remove material, not all methods produce an aesthetic form that is in line with expectations. Therefore, various experiments were conducted to find an appropriate method, which was beaten with rattan. The culmination of the neo-decollage project ended in two-dimensional works of art, although in its search for neo-decollage it expanded into action painting, performance art and video art. However, the form, as long as in the context of art, the main key lies in the search itself to find a language expressing the right art in formulating a problem. Visually, the appearance of neo-decollage — which discusses the phenomenon of being uprooted or distanced from anything that has been brought near — is a message that has deep meaning and that explains a fundamental and eternal thing about the nature of human beings.
