Indonesia is a prone disaster country with abrasion as one of the most common disaster that occurs in coastal area. Abrasion is a part of coastal dynamic process which results in shoreline changes aside from accretion. Abrasion is the occurance of sediments carried over by ocean wave from shore area to the open sea which leads to a decreased land area and a receded shoreline. Abrasion is a destructive natural phenomenon especially to coastal areas. Losari Sub-Districts has the highest potential of abrasion among other areas in Cirebon Regency. Abrasion mainly causes destruction to fishpond areas as one of the main landuse in Kecamatan Losari. Fish cultivation in Kecamatan Losari is very important as the supplier for high demands of fish in Indonesia. The occurance of abrasion at coastal areas in Kecamatan Losari causes economic loss of the fish cultivation farmer. The disadvantage of abrasion in Kecamatan Losari does not only happen to the farmers in the form of economic loss but also social problems which has an impact to the daily lives of the farmers. Economic loss of the damaged fish cultivation areas has always increased from time to time with the highest occurs in 2019 which is 44,6 billion Rupiah with the highest economic loss occurs in Desa Ambulu and Desa Tawangsari. The social impact assessment shows that abrasion phenomenon has a big impact to the fish cultivation farmer community’s activities which leads to emerging social problems such as unemployment, job transition, debt practice, job loss because of not being able to pay the rent, fish stealing, and health problem caused by the contaminated clean water pipes.
