Summary:The concept of dry port is one of the logistics infrastructure that can be the transportation network and support economic activities. Considering that Tanjung Priok Port is a gateway of export and import goods which causes congestion of goods, then through the Minister of Transportation Decree Number KP 284 of 2011 Cikarang Dry Port decided as an extension of Tanjung Priok Port. For this reason, it is important to know the benefits of using the Cikarang Dry Port as an extention of the Tanjung Priok Port. Information in this research can be known through literature review and interviews with stakeholders in shipping goods. In this research, it wil be known the characteristics of shipping goods through Cikarang Dry Port, the role of freight forwarders, shipping lines, and shipper as stakeholders in shipping goods through Cikarang Dry Port, and benefits of using Cikarang Dry Port as an extentions of Tanjung Priok Port in shipping goods at various conditions. The result of this study indicate that the use of Cikarang Dry Port is more profitable in terms of time and cost, and can save waiting time for 1,5 days or 42,8% faster than Tanjung Priok Port. And the availability of freight train modes from Cikarang Dry Port to Tanjung Priok Port is expected to be more efficient both in time and cost compared to using trucks.
