Waste and waste management become a very complex problem that requires the participation of all stakeholders to solve waste management as a comprehensive solution. In 2016, the amount of waste generated in Indonesia was 65,200,000 tons / year. The volume of waste generation is caused by the increasing population and the consumption patterns of the community. In accordance with Law No. 18/2008 on Waste Management, it is stated that the problem of waste management is also caused by a lack of awareness of all parties involved and also the use of a conventional waste management system. Responding to this, the government has established policies and strategies designed in national waste management to reach the target of 100% by 2025. To be able to achieve these policies in order to solve the problem of waste management, one of them is an effort to involve the community so that the journey of waste management becomes more effective and sustainable. Efforts to involve the community in waste management certainly require public awareness. In this regard, efforts to raise public awareness to participate in waste management require a motivating factor that will affect people's intentions to contribute to waste management. So it is necessary to identify the factors that encourage community participation in waste management. Although in principle, the existence of factors that influence community participation is very specific and dynamic in each location. The community-based waste management system has begun to be implemented in the city of Bandung, especially in Kampung Cibunut, Kebon Pisang Village, Sumur District, Bandung. By taking the case study of Cibunut Village RW07, Bandung City, this research aims to identify the factors that influence community participation in waste management by using a descriptive approach method. The results of the study showed that community participation in waste management in Kampung Cibunut had reached 93%. This is influenced by three factors, namely the existence of economic incentives or benefits, the socialization of waste management and the perception of commitment to participate.
