Through questionnaire surveys aimed towards the sample of Transjakarta bus rapid transit users, then analysing the resultant respondents’ willingness-to-pay preferences using Van Westendorp’s Price Sensitivity Meter to attain the optimal price range and point according to the sample’s preferences. The aforementioned price preferences were asked on several price points such as one being too cheap, cheap enough as a bargain, expensive yet still acceptable, and too expensive for the Transjakarta bus rapid transit user sample. As to measure the Transjakarta bus rapid transit operational financial feasibility, three operational scenarios from 2019-2030 were modelled. Inputed informations included Transjakarta bus rapid transit capital expenditure, operational expenditure, and fare. Outputted information included Transjakarta bus rapid transit subsidy requirement, in the form of operations financial deficit. The result of the most optimum model showed the lowest subsidy requirement attained through increasing the fare price of Transjakarta bus rapid transit services from Rp3.500 to Rp6.000 matching the Van Westendorp’s price sensitivity meter analysis result. The latter fare price then was increased year over year in accordance to economic growth and compared against increased bus fleet every five years. As such, the scenario attached and chosen on this study could illustrate the most optimum fare pricing shown by the highest subsidy requirement decrease. text |

To determine the most optimum fare for the Transjakarta bus rapid transit services –
according to the four financing element of capital expenditure, operational
expenditure, fare, and subsidy – information related to the users’ willingness-to-pay
and the Transjakarta bus rapid transit operational financial feasibility are needed.
Through questionnaire surveys aimed towards the sample of Transjakarta bus rapid
transit users, then analysing the resultant respondents’ willingness-to-pay preferences
using Van Westendorp’s Price Sensitivity Meter to attain the optimal price range and
point according to the sample’s preferences. The aforementioned price preferences
were asked on several price points such as one being too cheap, cheap enough as a
bargain, expensive yet still acceptable, and too expensive for the Transjakarta bus
rapid transit user sample. As to measure the Transjakarta bus rapid transit
operational financial feasibility, three operational scenarios from 2019-2030 were
modelled. Inputed informations included Transjakarta bus rapid transit capital
expenditure, operational expenditure, and fare. Outputted information included
Transjakarta bus rapid transit subsidy requirement, in the form of operations financial
deficit. The result of the most optimum model showed the lowest subsidy requirement
attained through increasing the fare price of Transjakarta bus rapid transit services
from Rp3.500 to Rp6.000 matching the Van Westendorp’s price sensitivity meter
analysis result. The latter fare price then was increased year over year in accordance
to economic growth and compared against increased bus fleet every five years. As
such, the scenario attached and chosen on this study could illustrate the most optimum
fare pricing shown by the highest subsidy requirement decrease. |
