Commuter travel in the Bandung - Jakarta corridor is dominated by commuters using private vehicles such as passenger cars. The presence of public transportation modes of the High Speed Train is expected to be an alternative mode of large transport capacity and environmentally friendly, which is able to reduce the burden of road-based traffic. This study aims to analyze the potential shift of commuter modes from Bandung to Jakarta using a car to the high speed rail mode based on the characteristics of the travel agent, the characteristics of the trip, and the characteristics of the transportation facilities. To achieve this goal, a logistic regression analysis and a comparative analysis of the cost of the trip to commuters from Bandung to Jakarta are in fact using private vehicles of passenger car types. Based on the results of the binary logistic regression analysis study obtained three variables that significantly influence the commuter, namely: age (X2), time in the vehicle (X6), and distance from home to the high speed rail station (X8). The probability of switching from commuter to the High Speed Train is 76.05% if the average age of the commuter is around 45 years, the time in the car is around 2.4 hours, and the distance from the house to the station is around 14.58 km. Based on the results of a study of travel cost analysis, it is found that the total travel cost that takes into account the marginal disutility of access time, the marginal disutility of time in a vehicle (in vehicle cost), and the cost or basic fare that must be incurred by each mode, the total trip cost private transportation type of passenger car Rp. 256,708, while the high speed rail Rp. 280,915. text
