In addition, some companies want to recruit human resources who have more skills and knowledge in a working world to improve their quality and productivity. Both skills and knowledge are necessary depending on profession or work field and difficulties that should be conquered at work. Skills and knowledge may be observed in GPA value and programs that were followed during university. This study is designed to understand the correspondence analysis method and apply it to observe the closeness among variables of ITB alumnus year 2008 i.e. between study programs and waiting period for a first job, and between work field and GPA value. The results of the study conclude that ITB have two study programs of FTI with fastest period of waiting for a first job (less than two months) and two study programs of FMIPA with longest period (more than 12 months). The results also show the closeness between alumni whose GPA value is over 3.00 and 17 work fields, such as Information and Communication, Educational, and Financial and Insurance services. In addition, there are alumnus where GPA value range (2.00; 3.00], are working in four business sectors. Two of those sectors are Construction and Development, and Transportation and Warehousing. Since competitiveness in working place and among companies then prospective employees who have good skills (which may be presented by higher GPA) are absolute required. This research is hoped can be input for ITB in order to improve their alumni qualities and also be consideration for prospective college student to choose their study program and university. text
