Description
Summary:The sales on second-hand product has been increased for the last few years. During 2000 until 2010, the ratio of used car usage to the new car in Americarose from 2,4 to 3,2. In Indonesia, purchasing used product can be seen as a new phenomenon along with the emerging of websites which offer service for used product transaction. The monetary global crisis has impact on few aspects. One of the implications can be seen on the increasing of industrial and mining equipment price. Consequently, the producers lower the production cost by stop buying heavy equipment for mining. Instead, they hire those equipment from third party or from legal agent. This act is called leasing. By considerations, many lessors tend to buy the used products rather than buying new ones. Though, the quality of the new products is much better than the used ones. That is why the lessors must upgrade those products before doing contract with their customers. In two dimensional leasing contracts, the contract expires when the usage of product has come to the limit of agreement. During the leasing, all types of maintenance are conducted by lessors. Corrective Maintenance (CM) with minimal fixation level is run if damage happens. In this research, the leasing contract is made in linear model in which the contract depends on the intensitas function. By upgrading the products, it is expected that intensitas function can be minimized so that the amount of damage can be decreased as well. Therefore, this research aims to find the optimum upgrading level which possible to minimize the value of lease contract. This is a study case on the Kerak 440 truck belongs to PT. Sapta Indra Sejati. Based on the damage data during the early 2011 until the end of 2015, it is found that the value of optimum lease contract for 2 years periode and usage limit 20x104 km is US $ 80.015,036 with the upgrading level is 0,42.
