Around one million of Indonesian people lost their lower limb. These condition disturb their activities. Amputee needs prosthetic leg to do their activities normally. Prosthetic knee is the most complicated part in prosthetic leg. Many studies have been done to develop affordable prosthetic knee with excellent quality. This study aims to enhance design of six bar prosthetic knee that have been designed before especially for static strength. Static strength analysis was done using finite element methods. Six bar prosthetic knee was 3D modeled using software. The force given to the prosthetic knee is equivalent to the ground standing reaction force. The joint between prosthetic knee and socket is modeled as fixed support. The simulation result was used to obtained the safe prosthetic knee design. text |

Amputation is the cutting process of bone, joints or muscle from human’s
limb. Around one million of Indonesian people lost their lower limb. These
condition disturb their activities. Amputee needs prosthetic leg to do their
activities normally. Prosthetic knee is the most complicated part in prosthetic
leg. Many studies have been done to develop affordable prosthetic knee with
excellent quality.
This study aims to enhance design of six bar prosthetic knee that have been
designed before especially for static strength. Static strength analysis was done
using finite element methods. Six bar prosthetic knee was 3D modeled using
software. The force given to the prosthetic knee is equivalent to the ground
standing reaction force. The joint between prosthetic knee and socket is
modeled as fixed support. The simulation result was used to obtained the safe
prosthetic knee design. |
