Organic fertilizer is a way to improve soil quality and land productivity, despite the nutrient content of organic fertilizers generally lower than inorganic fertilizers. Criteria and attributes to assess the sustainability of organic farming in supporting soil conservation is needed to assess the sustainability of the application of organic rice farming. This research was conducted with the aim of developing a sustainability assessment criteria and attributes of the application of compost in paddy fields as well as proving that organic rice farming profitable aspects of the environment, economy, and technology. The method used is the attribute sustainability assessment criteria and the application of organic fertilizers based on internal factors and external factors within the SWOT framework. Delphi technique is used to provide the criteria and attributes of the environmental aspects, economics, and technology. Results of the assessment of the Delphi technique showed that the attributes of soil fertility, farmers' income, and the availability of raw material for composting has the highest weight in the strength factor of the application of organic fertilizer. While rice yields down as non-organic land transition to organic farming capital and maintenance organic systems are quite expensive and complicated, and the process of composting is the attribute that has a high value so that the attribute of weakness application of organic fertilizer in rice paddies. Chemical soil quality test results, irrigation water and compost and supported the results of the calculation of the R / C ratio of farmers to prove that the condition of organic rice farming is able to maintain the quality and soil fertility, as well as economically profitable. Rate the sustainability status of solid organic fertilizer application show that organic rice farming system proved to have a high potential for continued and profitable for farmers on environmental aspects, economic, and technological developments. text
