THE INFLUENCE OF WORKLOAD AND WORK ENVIRONMENT FACTORS FOR OCCUPATIONAL ACCIDENT RISK IN PROCESS OF LOADING AND UNLOADING CONTAINERS

PT. X Jakarta is a company engaged in the port and logistics services. In general, containers are used in the process of logistics distribution. The process of loading and unloading containers at PT. X is carried out using heavy equipment operated by a certified operator. However, there are still...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/44452 PT. X Jakarta is a company engaged in the port and logistics services. In general, containers are used in the process of logistics distribution. The process of loading and unloading containers at PT. X is carried out using heavy equipment operated by a certified operator. However, there are still many workplace accidents causing a delay to the process of loading and unloading containers. This study aims to determine the relationship between workplace accident (dependent variable) and physical workload, mental workload, and work environment factor. Physical workload value was obtained using the European Assessment Worksheet (EAWS) method, meanwhile mental workload can be acquired using the NASA-TLX method. Logistic regression was used to perform a statistical analysis. In this study, the independent variables included age, work experience, physical and mental workload, and some work environment factors, such as light intensity, temperature and noise. The results show that the main factor causing the time delay was age (OR = 1.191 shift 1 and 1.187 shift 2), meanwhile the main factor to decrease the time delay was work experience (OR = 0.273 shift 1 and 0.258 shift 2). text
