Summary: | The forest fires have occurred several times in Indonesia in the last 25 years, one
of the worst forest fires occurred in October 2015. Aerosol are pollutants result
from forest fires that can do long-range transport and may cause air pollution. In
this research, the Author would do aerosol trajectory tracing in Bandung during
the forest fires in October 2015, horizontally and vertically using HYSPLIT-4
Back Trajectory Model. Model data input is 0,5ox0,5o GDAS data. Analysis of the
effect of forest fires to the increased of aerosol concentration represented by the
increase in value of AOD. AOD value used is MODIS AOD. The output of the
model is analyzed alongside data from GSMaP rainfall, meteorological data
NCEP / NCAR, and the SRTM topographic data CGIAR-CSI to obtain a more
accurate analysis in trajectory tracing of aerosol in Bandung. In October 2015 at
the surface level (10 meters above the AGL) was seen that the value of AOD in
Bandung tends to be high even reach the maximum value 1.406. This indicates an
increase of aerosol concentration in October 2015. The trajectory plot expressed
aerosol at this level in Bandung tend to come from the southeast and east of
Bandung of which came from the Indian Ocean, Cilacap, Ciamis, Garut,
Sumedang, Padalarang, or Cimahi. While at 925 hPa (1,000 meters AGL) aerosol
also tend to come from the same region with 10 m AGL. At 700 hPa (3000 meters
AGL) aerosol tends to come from the East Kalimantan. The high AOD values
indicate an aerosol sources that emit massive aerosol before trhe trajectory arrive
in Bandung. Forest Fire in Kareumbi, Sumedang, forest fires in Papandayan,
Garut, and forest fires in Masigit, Padalarang in October 2015 believed to be the
main trigger of the high value of AOD in Bandung City on Surface. Forest fires in
East Kalimantan was believed to be the cause of the high AOD value at 700 hPa
level. |
