lanes. This is a factor ib why it needed Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Batam to
ensure the security and safety of vessel traffic by implementing an evternal
operational procedures that regulate traffic in Batam sea waters according with
IALA Recommendation V-127. If the VTS Batam ineffectively implemented
according to the provisions of IALA V-127, it will have an impact on the lack of
an effective vessel traffic. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the effectiveness of
external operational VTS Batam by reviewing the cirrespondence between the
conditions set IALA Recommendation V-127 with SOP document of VTS Batam
and its implementation by VTS Batam stastion.
This study tried to assess each external operational procedures directed VTS
IALA Recommendation V-127 on each indicator with the implementation of the
VTS Batam, both on the SOP document of VTS Batam and operational of VTS
Batam station. To explain that purpose, this study ised descriptive qualitative
method by conducting suitability assessment, both on the SOP document of VTS
Batam and operational of VTS Batam station.
Based on the analysis, for the suitability of SOP Document of VTS Batam to IALA
VTS V-127 done quite well and there is still a procedure that is not contained in
the SOP document VTS Batam. For the suitability of operational of VTS Batam
Station to IALA V-127 done well and there are procedures that have not been
implemented. the Directorate General of Sea Transportation as a regulator of
VTS Batam recommended to be able to conduct a review of the procedures that
have not been implemented according to the direction IALA V-127. |
