Description
Summary:Lampung Province is an economic path for Sumatera Island and a destination area for tourist activity. Either economical sector or tourism would escalates demands for air transportation every year. Radin Inten II Airport, which is serving the Lampung Province, cannot cater to demands of air transport in the near future. The airport is now being expanded in its current location at Kelurahan Branti, Kecamatan Natar, in Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. A new terminal was planned with 4.5 million passangers per year capacity to replace the current one. The main issues for designing airport passanger terminal are level of service, security, and local identity. To fulfill its function as a terminal, well planned zoning; short, one-way circulation, and clear orientation are all needed. The security of airport terminal is concearned so the terminal is free of smuggling, terrorism, and other offenses that may occur in the crowd. Security can be maintained by designing spaces that easily supervised and situating security check pointsto segregate public area, semi sterile, and sterile area. The terminal is determined as representation of the region where it is built. Consequently, Radin Inten II Airport has to be able to represent Lampung Province and its general feel. The atmosphere can be established by displaying shapes, materials, colors, and patterns from Lampung.
