The connectivity of several transports is applied by the transit facility that allows users to switch modes. According to Local Regulation No.21 Year 2014 on Spatial Planning (RTRW) in Surabaya, there is a plan to construct an intermodal station at Terminal Joyoboyo. This intermodal station acts to integrate multiple transport modes, both based on road and rail. The design goal is intended to deliver the Joyoboyo Intermodal Station with integration to several transportation modes such as monorail, tram, bus, taxi, and feeder. This facility is also features park-and-ride system, universal design, bike shelter, and place making to increase amount of potential interest by the visitors. The design strategy is to deal with the circulation and wayfinding in order to approach an efficiency of the movement of the user to rapidly transit without any conflicts.
