Description
Summary:Traffic control is an effort to reduce traffic jam throughout major cities after conventional ways regarded as not effective. New addition of infrastructure such as Transjakarta to deplete traffic jam has been unfavorable in terms of the cost and result. Due to that, there has to be some other ways, one of which isoptimizing traffic light system by manipulating the duration of green and red periods which will affect vehicle flow in real time manner. This adaptive traffic light will minimize the queue length by means of nonlinear function with constraints. In order to predict vehicles flow, clustering method has been used to group upon each vehicle volume with similar values for each day. To cluster these values, Gaussian method is used to manifest the real condition into model simulation. After flow model manage to be acquired, optimization with quasi-Newton is used to approximate Hessian matrix which will then represent the minimum queue length of vehicles. This optimization system is combined withmax plusMPC in order to give better result.
