Summary: | Batik is one of Indonesia best heritage that need to be conserved. Since the
inauguration of batik by UNESCO as World Heritage in 2009, batik in the
international market continues to rise, so as to encourage the batik industry in
Indonesia to increase its production. According to one of the batik entrepreneurs
in Bandung, the number of batik production fluctuated depending on the season.
In the rainy season, batik production decreased by 30%. The quality batik dye
indigosol made dependent on the process of irradiation. When the intensity of the
sun is low, the activation of the dye did not go well so that the quality of batik
produced is low.
In this research, several test was conducted to compare the result of
irradiation using sun shines and ultraviolet on batik dye indigosol for some color.
Ultraviolet irradiation is done by putting the cloth under the LED UV panels
which is placed at a lightning frame. From the result, the most effective duration
and intensity of irradiation by LED UV will be obtained for each indigosol color.
The test result later will be processed by using spectrometry. At the design stage,
machine prototype will be made. There are three major stages in the manufacture
of prototypes, namely: the creation of irradiation system, creation of the
framework, and system integration. Furthermore, an HMI (Human – Machine
Interface) as a user interface for system is made.
Based on the results of the performed test, the data showed that the intensity
of ultraviolet irradiation is effective when the distance between the cloth and LED
UV was adjusted to 10 cm for each color indigosol tested. Because the intensity
generated by the LED UV panel is smaller than sunlight, ultraviolet radiation
takes more time than the solar radiation for each color indigosol tested. Each data
for any indigosol color was stored as a database so that the process of irradiation
using machine prototype. |
