Summary: | Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in Indonesia, which primarily affects
the productive age. Usually patients do not realize that he was suffering from CVD until finally feel
the symptoms of CVD, so CVD detection is very important. Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB)
has done a medical check-up services for lecturers and employees but there has been no followup of it to predict the incidence of CVD. Therefore, this study was conducted to detect the risk of
CVD in ITB lecturers and employees. The study is an observational study retrospectively starting
from the collecting entire medical check-up records at the Health Centre Bumi Medika Ganesa in
2015. Occurence of CVD is predicted using the Framingham risk score. The diseases studied were
cardiovascular diseases, hard coronary heart disease, coronary heart disease in the next 10 years,
and hypertension in the next four years. Lecturer at high risk of cardiovascular disease are in the
age groups 40-44 and 50-69, while employees in the age group of 50-59. Prediction incidence of
hard coronary heart disease with a high risk are lecturers in the 50-54 and 65-69 age groups, while
employees in the 45-49 age group. The age group of 50-69 on the lecturers have a higher risk of
coronary heart disease whereas the employees in the age group of 50-59. For hypertension, high
risk occurs in 35-69 age group of lecturers and employees in the age group of 25-29 and 40-59.
