prescription which can cause therapy effect problems. Rumah Sakit Mata Cicendo (RSMC)
Bandung has not done the prescribing analysis consistently including completeness and DRPs
analysis. Therefore, this study conducts analysis of prescribing that consist of administrative and
DRPs aspects toward polypharmacy prescription in infection polyclinic RSMC Bandung. This study
aimed to identify prescription completeness as well as some DRPs of patients in infection
polyclinic that received polypharmacy prescription. The study began with collecting polypharmacy
prescriptions and analysis of prescription completeness based on RSMC prescription form and
Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan No. 58 Tahun 2014. Furthermore, the study conducted DRPs
identification based on Medication Use Criteria composed from reliable references. Besides, costeffectiveness analysis was also conducted toward branded drugs based on market price. From 602
prescriptions that were analyzed, the result showed that polypharmacy prescriptions in infection
polyclinic RSMC Bandung did not meet some of prescription completeness criteria, while DRPs
analysis based on Medication Use Criteria showed that there were 67 cases of inappropriate
dosage frequency, 19 cases of inappropriate therapy duration, 2 cases of untreated indications,
177 cases of drug duplication, and 97 cases of drug interactions. Cost-effectiveness analysis
showed that 273 cases of medications were not cost-effective. Based on the result, DRP potential
in polypharmacy prescription was 0,6 which meant that there would be 3 kind of DRPs occured in
every 5 prescriptions.
