Therapeutic outcome will be optimal if patient understand and comply towards their treatment. Drug counseling is needed to increase patient understanding and adherence. There are several hospitals that have not provide drug counseling service, including PMN Cicendo Eye Hospital Bandung. The study was conducted to identify patient’s need to drug counseling service, other healthcare providers support (specifically doctors and nurses), readiness of pharmacists to provide drug counseling service, and facilities needed to provide the service. This study was started with preliminary study to determine the focus of drug counseling service followed by a survey of needs to hospitalized patients (grade 2 and 3) through interview, survey of support to nurses and doctors, and survey about readiness of pharmacists through questionnaire. Gap analysis was conducted to cope with limited in implementing patient counseling services. All patients felt the need of drug counseling, 94,17% of patients agree if pharmacist provides drug counseling, 88,35% of patients willing to be counseled, and 98,06% of patients would use the drug counseling service. All of the nurses and doctors respondent support pharmacists to do drug counseling services. All of the pharmacists were willing to provide drug counseling services. Result from gap analysis shown some limitations then the solution was proposed. Determination of ? ?ð±??? ?¸ ¸ð?± ?±?‘priority criteria given drug counseling is needed to answer the limited number of pharmacist. Moreover, due to limited facilities, criteria for use of drugs, standard operating procedures, form, and literatures needed patient counseling service should also be determined. In conclusion, drug counseling services can already be proposed to be held and carried out in PMN Cicendo Eye Hospital Bandung.
