Obat setelan is a drug that packaged in a pack containing 4 to 6 drugs. Obat setelan sold in drugstores without clear labeling, distributed and administered by no expert could be dangerous and can be fatal if the drug is classified as ethical drugs and are used by the community in the longterm. This study aimed to identify the effectiveness and side effects appear after taking obat setelan and determine compounds in obat setelan consumed Kebonwaru society. This research was a descriptive study conducted observational retrospective and concurrent with the data questionnaire to obat setelan users. Qualitative analysis with Thin Layer Chromatography method by using a mobile phase of chloroform: acetone (4: 1). The number of samples were 6 samples of obat setelan. Based on the results of the questionnaire, 87% of users feel better after taking obat setelan and 33% of obat setelan users experience side effects such as drowsiness, nausea and vomiting, palpitations and digestive disorders. The results of the identification of the compounds contained in the sample A and D containing paracetamol. Sample B contains piroxicam. Sample C containing paracetamol. Sample E containing paracetamol. Compounds contained in the sample A, C, D and E are paracetamol and sample B containing piroxicam.
