Description
Summary:The National Museum has attention to cultural preservation in early childhood. The museum organizers held many activities by inviting traditional game communities in Jabodetabek Region. The development of institutions that develop traditional games encourages the planning of the Indonesian Traditional Games Museum located adjacent to the National Museum. The Indonesian Traditional Game Museum facilitates exhibition, education, curation and commercial activities in an area of 6500m2. The museum is designed with the concept of uplifting traditional games as a cultural heritage to be proud of, so in the long term visitors are expected to preserve traditional games and in the short term visitors become enthusiastic to play traditional games in open spaces on site. This museum motivates visitors to reach the goals with the sequence of the building and the exhibitions. The space experience within the museum is designed to give a traditional-modern impression with a circular pattern. The pattern follows the mass form of the building which takes the analogy of wood spinning top from Lombok. The mass is located around an open space that becomes the orientation of view from each side of the mass. The design aims to attract visitors to be willing to play the traditional games in open space.
