There are several methods that have been developed on tidal data acquisition due to electronics development. Electronics development brings new options in tidal data acquisition, for example pressure type, buoy type, and the most modern type with ultrasonic principle. This study describes the development of tidal observation and tide recording system automatically. This instrument is named Ardianto Tide Master (ATM) 1.0. ATM 1.0 uses ultrasonic sensor to record sea surface movement. A microcontroller is used to convert analog data into digital data. Microcontroller store the measurement data into memory cards and displaying on a liquid crystal display. The results from ATM 1.0 compared to the measuring manually. Trial ATM 1.0 was performed on a laboratory scale and field scale. Laboratory scale test results showed linear correlation between ATM 1.0 with manual observation with correlation of 0,989 and RMSE 37 cm. The test results showed that the digitally readable pulse value of the device has linier relation with averages of 0,994 and RMSE 37 cm. Using Admiralty method, the result of Formzahl number is 0.821, which means that the tidal type of Gondol, Bali is mixed tide prevailing semidurnal. By using this tidal recording tool, the tidal data acquisition needs can be done automatically and do not spend much power for future surveying needs. text |
